Is this the best of the best in terms of mini poker games?

There are a ton of mini poker games online these days. No really there is the amount out there truly is staggering. The Governor of Poker series is one of the most popular, this is the third instalment not counting the iPad and iPhone versions of course.

Before you get into the actual poker I think you have to give credit to the presentation of Governor of Poker 3 some may argue that it does not look that different from the others, but to be fair you have to say it does what it does very well. I love the way the players all have there own cool cowboy hats, and being able to customise these is certainly something I would like to see in future games.

Gameplay

In terms of game play Governor of Poker is well it is poker, but what did you really expect? It is a very fun and addictive game to play. The way that it hooks you is by not just having you play one game of poker after the other there actually is a story to it. Your goal is to win big in every city in Texas. Each city will have various games of poker that you will need to win before you can move onto the next one. Once you have done this you will need to face off against one more opponent to really prove your self as the Governor of Poker.

The Story

This story is what I think really sets this game apart from other poker games. I love to play poker as much as the next guy, but adding a story to this game makes you want to play it even more it is incredibly well done and it really does hook you in. You have to give a huge amount of credit to the developers of this game for making a story out of a poker game.

Quick Game

If you just want to get straight into the poker however you can just play a quick game. At first though you can only play the one area, but if you have beaten other city’s in the story mode these will be unlocked in the quick play mode. Even if you just play the quick play mode this is still a very good adaptation of poker. There are multiple difficulty levels so players of any kind of skill will be able to have fun.

Conclusion

I have played a ton of poker games, and I can honestly say that Governor of Poker 3 is the most fun I have ever had. If you are a fan of poker I cannot recommend this game enough. If you are new to poker then this certainly would be a great way to start. Also, check out Governor of Poker 2.
