Gus Hansen big winner at the high stakes with $1.8 million

Gus Hansen is on a serious winning streak the last few days. He butchered all of his opponents at the high stakes on Full Tilt Poker and is up already $1.8 million dollar for the year 2011.

Funny thing is that Hansen is always strong in the first few months of the year. In 2009 he won $2.2 million in the first two months and in 2010 he won $1.8 million in January and February.

‘The Great Dane’ is better off quitting poker from March untill December, because in 2010 he lost $3 million in these months. In 2009 it was even worse: he lost around $8 million in this 10-month period.

We are going to check in on Gus the next few months regularly to see if he keeps to this tradition. There is no need to feel sorry for Hansen though. The man earned a boatload of money with his Full Tilt Poker shares and other business ventures, was voted one of the 50 sexiest men alive in the year 2004 by People Magazine and is living the good life.

Let’s see if he can also be a winning poker player for the rest of the year on top of this!
