Jungleman12 ends 2010 with a bang
A few days before the year 2010 ended we already wrote about the biggest winner by far in online poker Daniel ‘Jungleman12′ Cates. On the last day of the year, he even fired it up by having ‘one of the best days ever’ as he said on his Twitter account.
The Jungleman played sessions against ‘luckexpress10′ and Patrik Antonius, winning a total of $500,000 from his fellow high stakes pros. In 1,000 hands Cates won $380K of Antonius on Full Tilt Poker. He started of badly and was behind a staggering $250,000, but managed to turn things around.
The biggest hand of the session was at a mixed-game table:
Game: Pot Limit Omaha
Stakes: $300/$600
Stack size: Daniel Cates – $280,071, Patrik Antonius $149,285
Starting hand: Daniel Cates , Patrik Antonius
The action started when Patrik Antonius raised to $1,800 from the small blind. Cates then made a 3-bet to $5,400, and Antonius quickly called. The flop came and Cates made a bet of $7,200.
Antonius just called. The turn completed Antonius’ straight when the hits, and Cates bet $21,600. Antonius then raised to $90K. Cates raised all-in, putting, which was actually an all-in for Antonius for roughly $45K more. Antonius called and showed the stone-cold nuts. Cates needed a paired board to give him a full house, or a non-heart deuce for a chop.
The players chose to run the river two times, and both times Antonius was unlucky. The first time the came, the second time the , giving Jungleman12 both times a full boat. It brought him a pot of $300,000, which was a big part of his great online poker day.
