Victory Poker review

Victory Poker is a new poker room and entered the poker world with a boom! It is clear that the team behind Victory Poker takes it serious, as they already formed a huge poker pro team in the few months they are online constisting of players like Antonio ‘TheMagician’ Esfandiari, Andrew Robl (who was seen in the last season of High Stakes Poker) and Sara Jean Underwood (maybe more known as Playmate of the Year 2007).

VP tries to bring a cool image to the table with their young en trendy poker team, something that’s also becoming clear by the promotional videos they aired in which Antonio Esfandiari was shot with a gun wearing a bulletproof vest and another one where they blew up a car in the middle of the desert. They also try to attract promo videos like this one: (you don’t hear us complaining..):

Victory Poker is also big in bonuses and promotions -we talk about that later- and their software is available in different languages. We will review Victory Poker and will look at the things we think are important.

Player Level and Player Numbers

At the moment Victory Poker is the fastest growing poker room in the world (!) and is part of the Everleaf Network. It doesn’t belong to the bigger poker sites in the world yet, but the future is looking bright for VP.

If we look at the overall level of playing on Victory Poker, this also brings a smile on our faces. Not only do they take US players (which is always a recipe for fishy players), but also there are a lot of players coming from Italian and Brazilian Sportbook sites. These are usually real gambles and not the best poker players!

Software

The software of Victory Poker plays very well and smoothly. It is obvious that there is a good team behind VP, cause they thought about all the details. The hand history function is very strong because you can see the hand you played in a graphical way instead of text.

The poker tables are fully resizable, the betting slider works fluently and the software has a great feel in general. You can definetiley see that Victory Poker took a look at the Pokerstars software.

Another way to see that they paid a lot attention to the details is the extra features like the table with ‘estimated odds’ that is shown below the table. With this tool the average strenght of your hand compared to a random hand is shown. A very useful tool for beginning players. Another detail is that you can see the cards you folded during the hand with one push of the button.

I tested the download version of the software, but you can also play the no download version in flash which is very useful for players that don’t like to download or for people who play on a Mac computer.

Games

Victory Poker offers the regular forms of poker: Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo and 7-card stud. Tournament wise they have some interesting things for you. For example, when I was testing I immediately ran into a $2000 guaranteed tournament with only 20 players in it! It’s also possible to play steps, where you can win big prizes while you can enter for either a low buyin or a higher buyin. Not only you can win tickets for big live tournaments, but also cool prizes like cruise holidays and vacations with the Victory Pro Team.
