Tom Dwan just misses WSOP bracelet

tom-dwanFor Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan there is a lot on stake in this edition of the World Series of Poker. He made a huge amount of sidebets with people who could bet against him to win a bracelet this year. Despite Dwan is seen as one of the best cash game players in the world, he is not known for his tournament results. He never won a big poker tournament in his life, but if it is up to Dwan that will change this year.

With over $2 million in side bets, there is some more motivation for Durrr to win one. Dwan plays as many tournaments as he can this series but didn’t have much succes in the first ones. In Event #11 however, Dwan was on fire and even made it to the final table as the chipleader. His opponents -both at the table and in the bracelet bets- were very afraid that Dwan would go full steam ahead and pick up the much wanted bracelet.

They were even more afraid when Tom Dwan made it to the Heads Up! In the Heads Up he had to overcome a chip deficit to his opponent Simon Watt. Watt played very agressive and good throughout the tournament and this wasn’t any different in the Heads Up stage. He gave Dwan a hard time and after a failed bluff from Durrrr he had a commanding chip lead.

The final chips from Dwan went in with Q6o, only to get a snap call from Watt with pocket 9′s. No help on the board, and a big sigh from the people who bet against Dwan. The 23 years old wonderboy still has a lot of changes to win the bet, but will be very dissapointed to come this close.
